Out of School time

Go West is offering creative and nature based after school programs for children enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade at The Colorado Springs School. Programs are designed to be progressive, serve as the foundation of positive peer relationships and give opportunities to build self-esteem.

Back by popular demand for the 25/26 school year

OST CLUBS (Grades Kindergarten-5th)
Clubs offered will be varied throughout the week, and repeat for six weeks to allow for skill progression in the activities chosen. Go West created clubs to focus on youth skill development and progress skills in an area of interest each day across six weeks, taking our programming beyond childcare and into enrichment. Go West also promotes the power of choice, allowing the students to choose where they would like to build their skills.

New this year

MIDDLE SCHOOL OST (Grades 6th- 8th)
Go West will be providing a space for middle school students to work on homework after school. Cost for this program will be based on the number of hours the student attends.

STAFF

We know that a great experience starts with caring, mature staff members, and our staff is made up of adults who are committed to providing guidance, encouragement and fun. Our staff go through a rigorous hiring process and are selected based on their experience, knowledge and skills in specific activity areas, and their ability to create positive relationships with kids. Every individual contributes to the spirit and culture of Go West, and we highly value including staff from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

All of our staff members complete a thorough training before our program begins, many of our Out of School Time Leaders were summer camp staff previously. Staff members continually attend in-service trainings and are evaluated throughout their time with us. Our series of trainings includes, at a minimum, First Aid, CPR and certifications in specific program activities. Staff members also go through state and federal criminal background checks. To ensure the safety of our campers, Go West maintains a 1:10 staff to child ratio. Additionally, each activity is supervised by staff members with previous experience leading that activity.
